Saying that Black Fox is "tucked into a scenic paradise" is an understatement. Big Bear Lake, in the San Bernardino mountains of southern California, is a rare place indeed, where the seasons become more beautiful from one to the next, and there is never a shortage of things to do or people to meet. With both indoor and outdoor happenings, there's no way you'll be bored here!

As a resort town, one would expect Big Bear to be accomodating, but the people of Big Bear are what make this little community exceptional. Stroll through any street, whether main street or back street, and you will find folks warm, courteous, and friendly, all eager and willing to help you find whatever it is you're looking for (in the case of the shopkeepers, that applies even if they don't carry it; you'll be directed to your goal with a smile and a point up the block; most attractions in Big Bear are well within walking distance), and to make your stay more than memorable.

The shop's offerings are varied and extensive, featuring well-known artistans and local craftsmen, too, as some drop by from time to time just to visit. Even though the Trading Company is in the heart of "The Village" as it's known, it's set back a bit, next to the Teddy Bear Restaurant; just follow the scent of sage, and you'll be led right to it!

Here, you'll find Native-themed jewelry and home decor, as well as merchandise custom-made by the Black Fox himself, all purveyed with his own particular humor and good-natured coyote grin, fitting in with all the two (and four) legged natural inhabitants of this quaint and charming spot. It all makes for a lovely picture postcard, one you'll surely want to take home with you, unless, of course, you're like so many who venture "up the hill", and decide to make your stay permanent, and make Big Bear your home town, too.
